What kind of yarn is used for crochet beach cover up patterns?

The summer season calls for light weight yarn that is breathable and absorbent.

Different can definitely be used, however cotton yarn is popularly used for summer crochet. Cotton yarn is great for absorption which comes in handy during for warm weather.
